"Using your plate as a guide can help you eat the right foods and right amount of foods for better health."

"This concept of the plate method or half-plate rule was developed by dietitians to provide a visual aid for portion control. Fill a 9-inch plate (or bowl) half full of vegetables and fruit. Fill one-quarter of the plate with lean meat or protein, and one-quarter with grains, especially whole grains. Add one serving of low-fat milk, yogurt or cheese."
