Peach and Raspberry "Lassi"

Whirl up this tasty peach and raspberry smoothie for an easy DASH breakfast, snack or even light dessert.

Dietitian's Tip: 

This fantastic smoothie is delicious in the heart of peach season or in the middle of winter using frozen fruit. The recipe uses refreshing, calcium-rich lowfat buttermilk. It is similar to a mango lassi, a popular Indian drink that also uses buttermilk. Make this simple smoothie for breakfast, a DASH snack or serve it as a light dessert on a hot summer evening.

Ingredients: 

1 cup fresh or frozen peaches
½ medium ripe banana
½ cup fresh or frozen raspberries
1 cup lowfat buttermilk
2-3 ice cubes

Preparation: 

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and blend on high until smooth. Serve immediately.
